PetArmor® Plus IGR for Dogs

How to Keep Your Dog Free of Fleas and Ticks

Keeping my pets happy and healthy is very important to me. I make sure to pick up my supplies at our local veterinarian office so I can give them their annual shots. I always have new pets spayed or neutered. Fleas and ticks and be such a problem for pets so I always make sure I have the right products on hand to keep these pesky critters at bay. I was so excited to be able to try PetArmor® Plus IGR for dogs flea and tick topical from Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, Inc. for free!

Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, Inc. is committed to its mission of helping pets live happier, healthier lives. I love this companies mission statement. I want to make sure I am buying products from a company that wants my pets as happy and healthy as I do.

Did you know that your pets can get very sick if their fleas and ticks are left untreated? I was actually a pre-veterinarian major in college and worked at a local vet’s office during my studies. You would not believe the amount of pets we had come in that were infested with fleas and ticks. Fleas can also transmit tapeworms while ticks can carry the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. Vet bills can really add up so using a product like PetArmor® Plus IGR for dogs flea and tick can keep your dogs happy and healthy. You won’t find yourself in the vet’s office with an infestation. Plus, if your pets are in your home, you’ll find yourself calling the local pest control trying to get rid of the fleas that are jumping around your house.

It is our responsibility as pet owners to keep our pets healthy. Let’s protect them from fleas and ticks the easy way! Did you know that fleas and their eggs can live outside in grass, soil and crevices in sidewalks and live inside in rugs and carpets, floor cracks and bedding. I don’t think you want them in your child’s bed! Plus, these pesky pests multiply at an alarming rate and can even threaten human health.

So how do I keep my dog free of fleas and ticks?

Our Solution: PetArmor Plus IGR for dogs

Here are some important factors to know before purchasing a flea and tick topical for your dogs:

  • Buy the right product for their pet’s species
  • Know their dog’s weight
  • Consider their dog’s age
  • Don’t split tubes between dogs (although my vet does this all the time)
  • Only apply 30 days following the last flea and tick application

PetArmor Plus IGR

PetArmor Plus IGR contains fipronil, the No. 1 veterinarian-recommended active ingredient used in FRONTLINE® brand products*. The product also contains Novaluron, an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) that kills flea eggs and stops the reinfestation cycle.

Available at Walmart and Walmart.com, PetArmor Plus IGR kills adult fleas, ticks, flea eggs and chewing lice and costs less than FRONTLINE® Plus*. To learn more, vist www.petarmor.com.

Applying the Product

  • Remove product from the package.
  • Hold the tube with notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line.
  • Invert tube over dog and use open end to part dog’s hair.
  • Squeeze tube firmly to apply all of the solution from the back of the neck to a point midway between the neck and tail.

Review

First of all, this PetArmor product is super easy to use. I guess it might depend on if you have a willing pooch or not. Tackling down your sweet doggy may just be the hardest part! You might need a helping hand. Have your partner hold on to your dog while you apply the solution. It makes it much easier and you will be sure to get it all on and where it needs to be. I have a pretty easy time putting flea and tick topical on my pets but some are a little more rambunctious than others.

Here’s a couple of pics of our pets for you to enjoy! We love them all so much and have way too many to post!

How to Keep Your Dog Free of Fleas and Ticks

Dukie is definitely free of fleas and ticks! He is super hyper so we definitely needed a couple of sets of hands to apply the product. I love that this product keeps him free of fleas and ticks. Dukie’s an indoor dog so it’s great to know that there won’t be any fleas or ticks jumping around in her apartment.

Thank you for your review. We have a lot of critters (15 all of which were rescued) and fleas and ticks prevention is paramount in my house. I have tried a lot of other brands and have not felt good about the products or they cost way above my budget. I have seen this brand at my local store and the price is more in line with what I can afford. I will give it a try.

  • Diana Corlett

This is an interesting review. I have not had a flea or a tick problem in my dogs or cats, but it never hurts to be prepared when disaster strikes! I will be researching the availability of Pet Armor Plus in Canada.

  • Evelyn Chuter

Oh, your little kitty is the cutest thing. I just got a new kitty. I lost my cat that was 20 years old and the depression was too much. So in came a new one. I also worked for Vet’s though out my life and I know about fleas and I hate them. I never brought this brand of flea medicine before. I get mine from my Vet. All my pets are inside so they never get fleas too bad.

  • Jo-Ann Brightman

It is so important to keep our pets comfortable and free of leas and ticks. This is a good product to use.

  • sherry butcher

Love the pet photos, so cute. I have a 10 year old mix breed dog and he does so good when I apply the PetArmor. I’m so glad that this product is at Walmart and can be picked up without an RX for the vet. Helps so much. TFS.

  • anita leibert

I’ve never heard of this brand but should ask my Vet. The last brand I used on my dog made him extremely sick, so I’m very hesitant.
