California Wine Club Review

When I was asked to review wine I could not pass on the opportunity. I mean, who would? I have always loved sweet wines but never tried many different kinds. I will be getting two shipments from www.cawineclub.com as part of their Premier Club. One I received for this month and I will receive another two-bottle shipment in a few weeks. The Premier Club features two bottles of award-winning wine from California’s best “mom & pop” wineries.

When my shipment of wine arrived I was surprised at how well they were packaged. The two bottles of wine came in a specially designed styrofoam container with two slots, one for each bottle. In the box was a magazine and description of the wines I would be tasting. It is so wonderful to bring the wine tasting directly to your home. No driving required! In my case it’s always best not to drive after a wine tasting! haha!

California Wine Club Review

The wine I received were Sauvignon Blanc and Tempranillo both made by the Robledo Family Winery. I enjoy my wines chilled even though I know it is suggested that white wines taste best if they’re not too cold. Oh well!

I enjoyed the Tempranillo white wine with a delicious grilled steak.  It had a gorgeous bright ruby color with aromas of cranberry, blackberry, cinnamon, spice and toasted oak. The flavors of dried black fruit, toasted cedar and tobacco in the wine are to produce a long, rich finish. It was delicious but was a little bitter tasting for my taste buds.

The Sauvignon Blanc has a crisp lingering finish. Although it says it is best with curried chicken, I tried mine with steak. I loved the taste of this wine. It was delicious even chilled! Grab this wine while you can because only 520 cases were made!
